On May 12th ,a powerful earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter Scale has attacked the village which was called Wenchuan in Sichuan Province.
I surfed the Internet from morning till night to see what were happening in that place. I fell very distressed that when I saw the pictures .The whole villages were wiped out by the terrible earthquake. Hundreds of people lost their lives or were rendered homeless. But fortunately, millions of people home or broad have given freely in response to the appeal for the victims of the earthquake.
I hope all of us can try our best to help the victims out of this terrible disaster as soon as possible.
China is a great nation ! Chinese are all great people ! Great Chinese must defeat all the difficulties they meet at last !

In the sound of the whistle, the May meeting of rain and tears. We had a discussion about whether it is the only way out for senior students to go to college．Views vary from person to person.the majority of us consider it very necessary to go to college．They think it can widen their knowledge and improve their qualities．Only in this way can they find better jobs after graduation．Very few students,that is about ten percent of the students think it no use going university, because the tuition is too high for their family to afford．What’s more, it’s rather hard for college graduates to seek satisfactory jobs．Thirty percent of the students, however, believe “All roads lead to Rome．” Therefore it doesn’t make any difference whether they go to college or not．
In my opinion, we can receive a better education at college so that we can serve our motherland．

The Changes of My Hometown
My hometown is located at the outside of the city.
I was born and grew up there. It was a little village with natural scenery of green mountains, a beautiful river and lovely village houses. In the summer, I liked to go to picnic under the mountain and swim in the river.
But now my hometown has changes. The mountains were blown down to build the factories, and the river was polluted by the waste water from those factories. There are no more green mountains but the smoking factories. The water of the river turns black and stinks, and I can never swim in it again. The village houses are gone too, and the ugly storied houses with walls are instead.
I don’t like the changes of my hometown, it is a polluted hometown.

Her round face often looked rather sallow in complexion；she wasnt very tall or slim，and she walked with slightly—rounded shoulders。When I knew her，she must have been in her early thirties，about thirty—fifth even—and she even had one or two tell—tale wrinkles round the mouth。
