　　Elephant is the largest animal on land today. It weights some ninety kilograms and is about one metre high when born. When it is 12 years old, it studs over three meters and does not grow any more. Elephant is usually grey in color, having a long trunk with large ivory tusks protruding from each side of its mouth. Usually moving in groups and caring for each other, Elephant is know to be a very and gentle animal. For many years people have used the strength of these poweful animals to move trees and heavy logs. Elephant has been and is a vital tool for people to do many things that would normally be impossible. Elephant is and will continue to be one of the greatest creatures man has ever come into contact with. Its size. beauty, and power will forever be useful to man.

Almost all students don’t know what to write in English at the beginning. I had the same experience. But I just keep writing down everything happened to be in my mind. I will turn to a dictionary if I come across any words that I don’t know how to express. The second day, I just do the same.

　　Then I keep on writing every day. Maybe the things I write at first cannot be called an article, or even a sentence. It doesn’t matter. I do understand that it needs time to get myself used to thinking in a different way. Time can prove my efforts will not end in vain.

　　有一次，我在一本書上讀到一個故事，講述了火車上的一位老人，他在窗邊弄丟了一只鞋子，令大家感到吃驚的是，他迅速把另外一只鞋子也扔出窗外。人們問他為什么那樣做，他說如果有人撿到他的一只鞋子，是沒有用處的`，但是一雙鞋子就有價值。老人家是慷慨的，他對生活有著樂觀的態度。樂觀的態度是很重要的，當我們遇到困難了，就能克服。如果我們總是覺得沮喪，就不會開心。我們無法改變壞事情，但是可以改變我們的態度。
